Margarita's, Boots, & Power outages

Today has been fantastic, I spent the day with my family and had a pretty fun day! We started off the day getting pedicures, and who doesn't like those? I don't know anyone who doesn't. We went to a salon that we hadn't been to before, and we're just getting started and they ask us what we want to drink. I was thinking water, maybe Coke has an option... oh no, you can get margarita's, martini's and wine! Needless to say, I started my day off right with a strawberry margarita, but it was SUPER strong and at 10 in the morning, I wasn't ready for that. Either way, drinks and pedicures are a great combination.

What goes well with pedicures, but shopping of course! Let me say, I found the most amazing deal at Zona Rosa, it made my entire day. Going to DSW is dangerous territory because it's like taking a little kid to the candy store. But I found a really cute pair of brown boots for $24 bucks! YES!!!! So excited about that!

So its around noon and we start getting hungry and decide to try somewhere new. My mom suggested going to "The Cafe" in the Briarcliff Village so we headed out there. I love Briarcliff Village, it's so pretty. We get there and go inside a few shops and weird, all the lights are off. Apparently something happened and the power was out! Not even thinking, we walk over to the restaurant where we were informed we could order salads since they lost power too and they couldn't cook. No big deal, we'll go somewhere else... right? So we head up to Parkville to try "Frank's", this little family owned Italian restaurant that my friend Ashley said was great. I love Parkville too, it has such a small town feel to it. We get there, just kidding, Frank's is closed on Monday's. Figuring 3rd time is the charm, we ended up at Stone Canyon which is always delicious, but my goodness I never thought getting lunch would be so difficult!

It has been a beautiful day outside! A little windy but the sun is shining (maybe I should be a weather girl... haha!) and sunny days make me happy. A full day of shopping can make a girl tired, I think a nap is in order :)

Deal or No Deal, Chelsea & Disco Ball trophies

I figured out what I want to be for the rest of my life. I want to be a Deal or No Deal model. They work 5 months out of the year, 4-5 days a month, and make 6 figures. I want to know where to sign up. And kiss eating goodbye considering I'd have to weigh probably 100 pounds. But if I'm making 6 figures, I can pay someone else to eat for me.

I love watching Chelsea Lately, I don't know what I did before this show. Speaking of shows, I really need to catch up on my Gossip Girl, I haven't watched it in forever. I need to just have a DVD weekend, so if anyone has season 1, if I could borrow it that would be fab. I don't know about anyone else, but I think this season of Dancing with the Stars has been the best. I love Mark & Shawn and Chuck and Julianne... one of them need to win the obnoxious disco ball trophy. Just saying.

A little late, but here's our video with Taylor Swift from the ACM's! Colleen and I had fun, and we're not really sure why we all decided to make the little heart sign at the end... oh well.

"Things are sweeter in Tennessee..."

So I'm sitting here in the Q studio, chit chating with my best friend Natalie. You may know her, she talks on the radio sometimes, you should listen if you don't already :) Yesterday was pretty uneventful, I did alot of nothing and went to work... I live my life in the fast lane I know! As I'm driving in, I've just been more reminded how eclectic Westport is. I saw a guy on a moped wearing plaid bermuda shorts and a purple scarf on his head, and no one even noticed. That is Westport on 2 wheels. It made me laugh.

I'm so ready to move to Nashville. I never really thought of myself as an impatient person, but with the decision to move, I realized how impatient I am. I want to go, and I want to go NOW! I don't want to wait anymore. I love everything about the town; it has the small town feel in the city, and I love that. So if you know of anyone who is hiring full time in Nashville, keep me in mind :)

Ok, my thoughts are a little scatter-brained right now. The only cure for that is Mr. Goodcents. I think I'll go :)

Wow, how many smiley faces can I put in ONE blog?

ACM's, Crown Royal and nose twitches

So this is my first attempt at a blog! I've always wanted to do this because it never fails that I have 1,000,000 ideas running around in my head at any given time. Be prepared, my posts will be random, don't say I didn't warn you now :)

As most everyone knows, I just got back from
the ACM's (Academy of Country Music Awards) in Vegas on Monday! It was an absolute blast, there are not enough words to describe how fun it was. The first day was pretty laid back, and we had a welcome orientation, and listened to some songs from Emily West (she has an amazing voice, check her out!). Friday we did the morning show, I say "we" like I actually was on air, I just googled stuff, and checked out different artist's Twitter. My job was super important, don't be fooled :) At noon, we started the interviews which was so much fun. Later that night we had a meeting with Reba... yep, I said it, Reba McEntire. She is one of the funniest people ever, and so down to earth. I love when people are down to earth, even when they have sold a million albums. That night, the girls (TJ, Coco, & Cadie) flew in and we hung around the hotel bar for a while then called it a night. Oh, and I learned how to play Blackjack and Roulette! I gambled $10 bucks of Zeke's money, then won him maybe $30.

So Saturday, we did a full day of interviews, my favorite of course, Taylor Swift! Coco and I were doing a mini-webisode when she walked by, she noticed and jumped in. She's kinda my favorite.
Then we met Carrie Underwood, she's another favorite!

Later that night we went to Zac Brown's party, Toby Keith's, then back to the hotel bar. Our cab rides were always entertaining, we have some fantastic video clips of Coco explaining her life story to the drivers. I can't make this stuff up.

Anyway, Sunday TJ gets a text from John Rich to come hang out, so we go hang out at his suite for a few hours. His suite was amazing!

View from John's deck
Crown Royal Jacket

You could see everything from this deck! And we met his new bodyguard, the country angel of death, Six. He's actually super cool, but I would not mess with this guy, like ever... He's like 7 feet tall, no joke. John let me try on his Crown Royal jacket, made by Granny Rich. Not gonna lie, it was pretty awesome. So then John checks his phone, "Oh hey guys, I got you 4 tickets for tonight"... wait, what? Did he just say that? Yeah, he just said we were going to the ACM's. I love John. He's another one of my favorites. Being the girls we are, we got all giddy and had to run downstairs to start getting ready (which I think we did in record time, by the way). Then off to the ACM's! We didn't walk the orange carpet, we weren't cool enough for that, but whatever, it was still fun ;-)

I'm sitting in this auditorium looking around, trying to take everything in, and who walks by? Oh, Bruce and Kris Jenner, from "Keeping Up with the Kardashians"! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that show! She is absolutely stunning in person. The whole time I'm watching the awards, I'm thinking, "Holy cow, my life is seriously amazing", I knew my life was awesome, but wow! After the show, we went to the Capitol afterparty, where we met... (are you ready for this?) NICOLE KIDMAN! Yes, Nicole Kidman! She is gorgeous in person, and absolutely flawless. And what did I ask her? "Can you still twitch your nose like you did in 'Bewitched'?" Yeah, I really asked that. Why? I have no idea. It was one of those things where if I could grab it back and hit the delete button, I would have. Thankfully she thought it was funny, she laughed, attempted the nose twitch and said, "I guess I'm out of practice!" and laughed again. So I left real fast after that. Before I even left for Vegas I had said it will be icing on the cake if I get to meet Keith Urban. Well I did, and he's amazing. Seeing those two together, you can totally see how much they love each other. It's adorable. We ran into Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker, and the Little Big Town gang. I love them all. Then the gang headed up to a party at the Skybox Loft, which was really cool. Being on the 27th floor and getting to see the city all lit up was beautiful. I love city lights. Last party of the night, we headed to John Rich's After AFTER party. The next morning, the girls flew back home, and Zeke and I caught our flight at 2:30. What a weekend. Seriously amazing. And no, I didn't mean to make this post the length of a book, but hopefully you had a laugh while reading it! If you want to see ALL the pics from the ACM's, click on the slideshow!

I can see why people can get addicted to blogging...
